Our students were able to share their music and soak in music played by adults who played guitar and sung karaoke. It was such a fun night and the students gave and received encouragement from the audience and other performers….we’ll be going back in January 2022

Don’t miss the fun evening at the old courthouse heritage museum in Inverness Florida. Our very own Miss Juliet will be playing the musical part of this live reading of a radio broadcast.

Did you know that cognitive development of preschoolers in relation to pre-literacy (i.e. what children know about reading and writing before they can actually read and write) should also include musical activities that focus on auditory processing an accurate beat keeping. Want to help them then sign up for Musikgarten classes here.

Stepping out of our comfort zone is hard for adults, and it’s harder when we watch our children do it. But the benefits are so much more wonderful than the moments of discomfort felt before this growth. This is a picture from this past spring and our music garden class this little boy was always the onlooker when we crawled through the hoops. But a moment of discomfort and… Cade decided to join the group and crawl through the hoops, this was big for him and we were allHolding our breath to see if he would do it. He did and I pray he was proud of himself, I was proud for him. It was awesome to watch him get out of his comfort zone. We all need to gather comfort zones in order to grow. Cade is thriving in preschool now and still talks about music class. If your child needs to make friends or just get determined to join in on an activity, over come back discomfort and sign up here., it will be so worth it!

Want to know what moms are always doing? Moms are always the one taking the picture of their little one enjoying the slide drinking the milkshake, playing with a new toy on the floor, or hugging grandma. Who is not in the picture? The mom, and I want my Musikgarten moms to see how much love they give their children every day and have those pictures to look back on years later.

When I was 14 years old, music helped me through...
I was in high school and my brother had just moved 4 hours away, and both my parents worked, which left me a "latch key kid", I got off the bus, walked the half mile home and let myself in, made my own snacks and had no one to talk to or hang out with....except...that very large, dark brown piano in the corner of the livingroom....
And that is how is spent my time after school and those two summers for 2 years until I was old enough to drive and get a job. Why am I sharing this? Well for two reasons, first had I not had piano in my life, who knows what trouble I would have found...and piano has always been there as an escape from stress in my life (I was really, really sad my brother had moved away). And little did I know the bonus....I excelled in my skills during this time and came out a much better piano player.
How has music touched your life? You don't need to play to experience it, that's the great part about music...

This is Ms. Susan, and this is her story…
“When I was 12 years old music changed my life..let me tell you what happened. I started to play the French horn in 7th grade, I had an immediate sense of belonging to something and began a long wonderful journey with the horn and playing incredible music. I went on to get a music performance degree in college and years later started playing the piano. The pursuit of creating beautiful music taught me skills of sticking through something until the end. It gave me enormous amounts of strength during good and bad times and for me is the biggest part of who I am today as a person.”

What a great opportunity Citrus County has given us by opening the doors to the community center so we can share our talents. Our studio hopefully will have some participating piano players, and they’ll get to see guitartists, singers, comedians, and I am hoping for a magician. I love magic!

I love looking through my old music books and seeing remarks written by my teacher Mrs.Dell. I framed this one, it was the recital piece I played when I was 11, it hangs in a frame at the studio. Can you see the exclamation point? I was so excited for that review!!
I hope my students keep their books, and look back at my notes and suggestions and can feel how much I wanted them to succeed. 🎵
